There are few things so tragic as when a body comes to the hospital beyond the point of recognition, although I do not understand why anyone would think to bring parts of a corpse to the ward as if I might somehow manage to piece them back together. Particularly if you cannot be bothered to retain all of the pieces. I may be a talented healer but my success rate in reviving dead and dismembered patients remains zero. |

For any who wish to learn basic healing skills, with an emphasis upon duelling injuries, I will be holding training sessions on Wednesday evenings at seven pm. Anyone who would like to participate should report to my office on the Spell Damage ward at St Mungo's this week. I expect that should you decide to participate, I will have your full commitment and regular attendance. Do not waste my time. And you will be discreet in this. Should any of you declare that you are in the building for Death Eater Healing Training, I will be severely displeased. |

I am not a man who is given to lengthy speeches or essays and yet I can no longer sit idly and watch as our society continues to descend into depravity.
Know that my comments are not directed at any one or two individuals, but at a disturbing majority of society who seem to have forgotten just what it is that we are striving towards. Each and every one of you has claimed to support the Dark Lord's cause, to believe in the values of pureblood society and yet too many of you fail to exemplify those very values in your every day life.
I ask then, for what purpose do you fight? If you have pledged your loyalty to our Lord and Master for no greater reason than the satiation of your own blood lust, I would say that you are sorely mistaken in your thoughts of what it means to support our cause. If it is acceptance and camaraderie that you seek, there are more than a few social clubs to which you might be better suited.
We speak of the traditions of society as something to be preserved against the threat of Muggle influence and yet so many of you blatantly flaunt those very traditions. Ours is not a society in which marriages are rushed into, in which courtships are abbreviated or dispensed with all together. Ours is not a society in which women behave like men, forgetting that their place is at their husband's side, supporting his efforts over her own. We certainly do not fight so that you might display the drunkenness, incivility, indecency and lasciviousness that has been so prevalent these last few months.
We are supposed to be the very pillars of wizarding society, exemplifying the ideals that all should strive to meet. We do not indulge in violence out of base desires, but rather necessity. We do not engage in premarital intercourse. We certainly do not become pregnant or impregnate out of wedlock. We do not flaunt our wealth. We do not publicly threaten our relations. We do not overindulge in alcohol. We do not speak crudely, even to those who are beneath us.
If these are not the values that you are striving to uphold, I ask just what it is you believe we are working to accomplish? |
